How to reach : Thiruvananthapuram Airport is the nearest with 87 kms. and from there by road. Bangalore in Karnataka is about 700 kms. The must visit place is the Vivekananda rock memorial, which is 500 meters from the land, is a rocky island, where you can watch and enjoy the sound of the waves hitting the rock. It is believed that Swami Vivekananda meditated on this rock for enlightenment. There is a prayer hall where anybody can sit and meditate for any length of period. A peaceful place where silence speaks. The Kanyakumari temple, Gandhi Mantapam are all located close by. The memorial for the Tsunami victims is situated on the beach. There are many religious and sight seeing places around Kanyakumari. You can pick some depending on the availability of time.
